Ward 1 has 14 care beds and is located at Karlahuset in Örebro, conveniently close to the city center as well as bus and train connections. We are a wonderful team of approximately 35 employees, consisting of nurses and care assistants. We primarily care for patients with psychotic illnesses and collaborate closely with the outpatient psychosis care team, which is also located in the building. We also have close cooperation with other psychiatric wards in the county and with social psychiatry services in the municipalities.

As a nurse, you have a leadership role and are responsible for the psychiatric care of inpatients together with other professions. You participate in rounds and perform standard nursing tasks such as medication management, assessments, and medical record keeping. The duties also include support conversations with patients, as well as contact and coordination with other healthcare providers, the municipality, and relatives/caregivers.

We place great emphasis on conversations with our patients and teamwork with other professions on the ward, as psychiatric care is based on collaboration and participation. You play a key role in the ongoing development and change work of the unit to ensure more person-centered care and a developing, good work environment. As a new employee, you will receive a thorough introduction.

A licensed nurse or a specialist nurse with a focus on psychiatry is an advantage, but not a requirement. We are looking for you who enjoy working closely with patients, who have the patient's best interests at heart, who can tailor care to the patient's needs, and who take a holistic perspective, seeing both the patient and their loved ones in their life situation.

Work on the ward is built on commitment, responsiveness, a positive attitude, and good collegial camaraderie, which requires teamwork skills and social competence. Teamwork is fundamental to the work.

The operations within specialized psychiatry are concentrated in Örebro. Here you will find operations focusing on areas such as psychosis care, trauma care, dialectical behavior therapy, psychiatric rehabilitation, physiotherapy, addiction care, internet-based treatment, and an eating disorders clinic. We provide treatment both individually and in groups, as well as through scheduled and emergency visits and telephone counseling. Rehabilitation is an integral part of our work, along with mobile interventions and patient and family education. Together, we are around 250 employees working with common processes and goals.
