Are you a trained biomedical laboratory scientist? There is a varied and exciting job for you in transfusion medicine and blood group serology.
We are a great team of 12 biomedical laboratory scientists who, together with 7 doctors, serve the region with blood supply.
ResponsibilitiesYou will perform blood group serological analyses, both manually and using automated equipment. The role includes antibody investigations, investigation of transfusion complications, and preparation of own test erythrocytes. You will also check the blood stock across the entire region, as well as freezing and thawing blood. Other potential tasks may include fetal RhD genotyping and work related to stem cell transplants. In addition to routine work, various improvement projects are ongoing.

QualificationsYou are a licensed biomedical laboratory scientist. Experience from blood bank operations is an advantage.

About the operationsThe Laboratory Medicine area in Region Örebro County is a county clinic, which means a consolidated responsibility for the laboratory medicine service provided at the laboratories within Örebro University Hospital, Karlskoga Hospital, and Lindesberg Hospital. We run a broad operation within the areas of clinical chemistry, bacteriology, virology, immunology, transfusion medicine (including therapeutic plasma exchange), pathology, cytology, molecular genetics, and instrument sterilization. Nearly 300 people work here with routine diagnostics, research and development, as well as education.
