The inpatient care within general psychiatry is part of the general psychiatry operational area. Our care wards are located adjacent to the University Hospital in Örebro. On our wards, we have an extra focus on developing the content of care according to the Safewards method. Access to peer support and care places for user-led admissions is available on some of our wards. Collaboration with our specialist psychiatric nursing teams (SPOT) is an important part of our work. Together, we work with common processes and goals. We work in multidisciplinary teams based on a holistic view of the human being and adapt care interventions to the patient's needs and conditions. We strive to promote the involvement of relatives in the care.

Job Responsibilities

The work consists of making an initial assessment of patients visiting the psychiatric emergency department, triaging, leading/coordinating the reception work, and together with the unit manager developing, implementing, and creating routines for patient and team work. Ensure that routines are followed and collaborate with the ward coordinator, on-call physicians, other healthcare services, and collaboration partners. Be responsible for introducing new employees to the operations.

The duties also include nursing and patient work, medication management, and contact with relatives in the ongoing reception work. If this sounds interesting and you want to know more about how the work is practically done, you are welcome to observe us at the psychiatric emergency department.

Qualifications

Specialist nurse with a focus on psychiatry or a registered nurse who lacks a specialist nurse degree.

We are looking for you who enjoy working close to the patients and keeping the patient's best interest in mind. You should be confident in yourself and in your role as a nurse. You are interested in working with both care and treatment interventions for patients with severe psychiatric symptoms in the acute phase, as well as working together with the team to ensure good and safe care and treatment.

The work in the operation is based on great commitment, responsiveness, a positive basic attitude, and good collegial community, which places demands on cooperation skills and social competence. You have an ethical and professional approach in all meetings. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
