RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to work in an organization where you have the opportunity to make a difference in people's daily lives? We are now looking for a support educator for one of our group homes within the LSS (Act for Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments).

As a support educator, you will be a key part of creating a meaningful and developmental daily life for people with various disabilities. In your role, you will work to ensure the quality of implementation plans and support and mentor your colleagues in the pedagogical work regarding the users. This includes contributing to the development of documentation as well as implementing and strengthening pedagogical methods and approaches. The work also involves driving pedagogical activities using methods such as clarifying pedagogy, low-affective handling, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). Work involving challenging behavior may occur.

As a support educator in group housing, you are to support and develop people with disabilities toward a well-functioning daily life based on an implementation plan. The work includes providing support, motivation, and structure in daily tasks, as well as help and support with personal care, leisure activities, and social contacts.

Working hours consist of days/evenings/weekends/on-call duties. We work with annual working hours, and full-time is the norm.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who have a university degree in pedagogy or behavioral science, or another post-secondary degree with a relevant focus for the target group. It is meritorious if you have knowledge of autism spectrum disorders as well as intellectual, psychiatric, and neuropsychiatric disabilities. Experience with clarifying pedagogy, low-affective handling, and AAC is also meritorious. Challenging behavior occurs and needs to be prevented and handled in a professional manner.

Knowledge of sign language is a requirement as it is an important part of communication with the users.

As a person, you have a genuine interest in working with people. Through a secure and stable approach, good communication, and respectful treatment, you build trusting relationships and collaborations with both participants and colleagues. You are flexible in your way of thinking and working, and you adapt easily to changes. We appreciate that you are driven, curious, and open to developing both yourself and the organization.

You must also have good skills in the Swedish language for communication and documentation. Since travel is part of the job, a Class B driver's license is required.
