We are looking for an Environmental Construction Manager for the Swedish Transport Administration's projects Hillared–Bor Track and Switch Replacement and Lekarekulle Bypass Track.

This is a consulting assignment. The base of operations is Gothenburg.

The position is full-time.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork skills.

The Assignment

In this role, you are responsible for leading, coordinating, and monitoring environmental work throughout the entire project, from design to production. You act as the Swedish Transport Administration's representative in environmental matters and ensure that the contract is executed according to the contract terms, authority requirements, permits, budget, and established quality standards.

Your main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Leading and coordinating the project's environmental work.
• Monitoring the contractor's and designer's work, documentation, and self-inspections.
• Ensuring compliance with laws, authority requirements, and environmental permits.
• Monitoring time, cost, quality, environment, working environment, and safety.
• Handling deviations, risks, and forecasts, and reporting the project status to project management.
• Participating in construction, design, and economic meetings, and collaborating with contractors, authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Contributing to procurements, inspections, site visits, and final documentation.

We are looking for someone who is clear, structured, and self-initiating, with good teamwork skills and the ability to build trusting relationships.

Requirements (NOTE, mandatory)

• Fluent Swedish in speech and writing.
• The consultant must have at least 5 years of work experience (site manager, project manager, assistant project manager, sub-project manager, construction manager, construction site supervisor) within the specific technical area of environment.
• The consultant must have at least 5 years of experience working on road and/or railway projects during the design and production phases regarding environmental issues, and experience with unexcavated soils/soil handling and projects involving water activities.
• The consultant must provide at least three reference assignments for railway projects where they worked within the environment sector involving contaminated areas and/or soil handling (including risk assessment, remediation techniques, and relevant legislation). The assignments must have been completed within the last five years. At least one of these assignments must be a track replacement including ballast cleaning with a contract value of at least 100 million SEK.
• The consultant must have knowledge of laws, regulations, standards, and directives within the relevant technical area.
• The consultant must be well-versed in the Swedish Transport Administration's governing and guiding documents.
• Knowledge and experience of relevant standard contracts (AB, ABT, ABK, etc.), demonstrated through courses or practical experience.
• Good knowledge of AMA AF and AMA AF Consulting and industry regulations, demonstrated through courses or practical experience.
• The consultant must master Swedish and English in speech and writing.
• The consultant must hold a driver's license, at least category B.
• The consultant must have training in BAS-ÄSKYDD – Safety and Security Management for Work in Rail Areas.
• The consultant must have training as an SOS Planner (Safety and Security Planner).
• The consultant must have training as a Construction Environmental Coordinator (BAS-P/U).
• The consultant must have training in Stability-Affecting Work in Tracks (BASTAB).
• The consultant must have training according to TDOK 2018:0371 at least level 1.1, 1.2, 1.3.
