Are you curious, driven, communicative, and detail-oriented? Help us create the conditions for a sustainable future and secure products!
We are now looking for you, an engineer in building technology, for the role of Certification Engineer. In this role, you will have a central and crucial function in ensuring that building products and materials meet current requirements and regulations. With us, you make a difference – for real!
About Us
At the Certification department, we contribute to the development of business competitiveness and enable new innovations by offering customized certification solutions. Our services create trust and give our customers access to the market.
We have a successful certification operation that continues to grow, and we are therefore looking for more engineers who want to develop together with us within product certification. In return, we offer meaningful and varied work in a dynamic environment with great opportunities for both professional and personal development.
About the Role
As a Building Engineer/Certification Engineer within Product Certification, you will become part of an engaged team of approximately 25 people, consisting of both engineers and administrative staff.
You work with varying certification assignments and technical evaluations of different building products and construction materials, in accordance with the Planning and Building Act (PBL), the National Board of Housing, Building and Planning Regulations (BBR), and relevant EN standards. This may, for example, involve structural materials, insulation, doors, and other building-related products.
You drive and coordinate the entire process – from the customer's inquiry to delivery. The work includes sales, quotation work, technical analyses, and evaluations in collaboration with colleagues and the lab, as well as participation in the development of specifications and rules for product assessment. In this way, you contribute to our customers being able to launch their products on the market and develop their business. In the role, you work closely with your colleagues, while having significant personal responsibility and freedom to plan and structure your work. Business travel may occur, and the place of work is Borås or Karlskrona.
To give you the best possible start in the role, we offer a structured introduction with mentoring during the first year. You will receive support from experienced colleagues and gradually build your competence in certification, regulations, and working methods in our accredited operation.
The position of Building Engineer also offers good opportunities to develop further into a role as an auditor, where you conduct quality audits related to product certification on-site at our customers, both in Sweden and internationally.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who thrive in a role where you get to combine independent work with close collaboration. You have good teamwork skills and actively contribute to an open and constructive work climate. With your communicative and relationship-building skills, you build trust both internally and in dialogue with customers and partners.
You work in a structured manner and have a strong focus on quality, which enables you to handle several parallel assignments and deliver with high precision. At the same time, you have good analytical and problem-solving skills – you can interpret requirements, identify deviations, and make well-founded decisions in complex technical issues.
The role requires a technical university education in building technology as well as a few years of relevant work experience as an engineer in the construction sector. This could, for example, be from construction, product development, manufacturing industry, or testing and certification activities.
You have good IT skills and experience working in business systems and digital tools. It is meritorious, but not a requirement, if you have knowledge of testing, standards, regulations, or materials science. You express yourself comfortably in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.
Are we right for each other?
At RISE, we like differences, and we are convinced that diversity contributes to an innovative environment where we together challenge boundaries and develop new knowledge and competence for the future. Here, passionate problem solvers meet to solve some of the world's most important, and perhaps most fun, problems. We cannot promise you an easy job, but what we can promise you is a group of engaged colleagues and some really exciting societal challenges to tackle. With us, you get the opportunity to make a real difference. Welcome to Sweden's entire research institute and innovation partner!
