We are now looking for a Category Manager for EKO Stormarknad. We are looking for someone with experience from retail, who is a skilled negotiator and an experienced assortment builder – and who is driven by creating profitable business. With us, you will have an important role in developing our offer and assortment. We are looking for you who are fearless, proactive, and have the ability to quickly adapt to trends and changes in the market. About us EKO Stormarknad offers well-known brands at low prices. This permeates the entire purchasing department's work – constantly creating the best and most cost-effective assortment for our customers. We are a growing organization with several new store openings in sight. We handle large volumes at a high pace and with high turnover. About the role The role of Category Manager involves many contact points, both internally and externally. We therefore see that you are a good communicator, a team player, and work in a structured manner. Your responsibilities You are responsible for the assortment and pricing with a focus on chemical-technical products within hygiene and cleaning, cosmetics and hair care, as well as cleaning supplies. The role includes among other things:

  • Identify new suppliers and business opportunities and develop collaborations with existing partners
  • Build and develop the assortment to create the best customer offer
  • Negotiate with suppliers regarding assortment, terms, and purchase prices
  • Conduct market analyses and work with pricing
  • Keep up to date with the market, trends, and product development
  • Plan marketing efforts, both digital and on TV
  • Work with campaign planning
  • Participate in new store openings (approx. 2 stores/year), including planning, template orders, and support to staff
  • Support and inform existing stores on matters regarding assortment, supplier changes, pricing, and sales
Your profile

As a person, you are responsible, unpretentious, and have an easy time collaborating. You are goal-oriented and deliver with high quality within given timeframes. You:

We would like you to have experience of purchasing within retail. Previous experience of category work within grocery or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) is meritorious, but not a requirement. Good knowledge of Excel is a requirement. About the team You will become part of an engaged team of 12 people who work every day to create an attractive and competitive assortment that makes every visit to EKO Stormarknad an experience.
