Beroendecentrum Stockholm is Sweden's largest addiction clinic. We offer support and assistance to people who have problems with alcohol, drugs, medication, or gambling. Our operations include acute and inpatient care, local outpatient care, and highly specialized care. We are also a clinic that provides university healthcare as well as research and education.

The Workplace

Maria Ungdom makes a difference for children, adolescents, and young adults who have risky use, harmful use, or dependence on alcohol and other drugs, often in combination with other mental health issues. The operations cover the entire county and have a complete care chain including acute and inpatient care as well as outpatient care. We are part of Beroendecentrum Stockholm and Region Stockholm.

Maria Ungdom receives children and young people aged 12–20 who have or are at risk of harmful use of alcohol and other drugs. The target group is broad and varies greatly in terms of severity of comorbidity.

At Mini Maria, teams consisting of nurses, psychologists, and doctors work. The Mini Maria clinics are co-located with staff from social services, and the work is often carried out in close collaboration with them.

The Job

The duties as a psychologist include:

  • Psychiatric assessments.
  • Motivational interviewing.
  • Psychological treatment, primarily individual but also in groups.
  • Parental support and psychoeducation.
  • Neuropsychiatric investigations.

You are expected to take overall responsibility for coordinating interventions for patients where you are the primary contact. Close collaboration with other colleagues at the unit, relatives/close ones, other authorities, and healthcare providers is also an important part of the job. Documentation takes place in the journal system Take Care.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist, preferably with a focus on CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy).

Experience in trauma treatment is highly meritorious, preferably in combination with experience working with young people and/or addiction care. It is positive if you also have experience working with patients with complex psychiatric issues.

Employment Conditions

Permanent full-time position, daytime hours. Start date according to agreement. The position includes work at 60% at Mini Maria Stockholm and 40% at Mini Maria in the southern county area.

Beroendecentrum applies alcohol and drug tests as well as extracts from the suspicion and criminal records register in connection with new employment.

Interviews take place continuously, and the position may be filled before the last application date.

The position is filled subject to it not needing to be taken for internal reassignment, according to current regulations.

In patient-related work within the Stockholm County Healthcare Services (SLSO):

  • Register control is applied before the decision on employment according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for register control upon employment.
  • Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a new employment examination, according to current directives, which takes place through occupational health services before employment.
  • Requires, in addition to Swedish professional licensure, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The same requirements are guiding for non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
