Our vision and goals aim for care of the highest quality, where the patient is always at the center. We provide local and regional healthcare, as well as highly specialized care to patients across the country and abroad. Our employees are our strength, contributing to knowledge exchange nationally and internationally. About Us
The Pediatric Neurological Assessment Clinic (NUMO) is a highly specialized unit serving children and adolescents up to 18 years old with congenital and acquired neurological disabilities. We conduct complex, interprofessional functional assessments and follow-ups according to care programs, and offer treatment interventions. Our interprofessional teams may consist of psychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, speech therapists, dietitians, doctors, and special educators. Development and research are integral parts of our operations. About the Role
The duties primarily involve occupational therapy assessments and follow-ups in collaboration with the neuromuscular team. In addition to the occupational therapist, the team consists of a pediatric neurologist, a physiotherapist, and a dietitian. The team is one of two National Highly Specialized Care (NHV) units for neuromuscular diseases in children in Sweden. Patients come from large parts of Sweden and meet the team for part of a day, where they are systematically examined using diagnosis-specific assessment instruments. The results of the examinations are shared with the patient and parents during the day, and recommendations are sent after the visit to the respective habilitation center or pediatric clinic in their home municipality. Collaboration with other healthcare providers, as well as consultation and supervision, is part of the role.
Part of the position will also be directed towards NUMO's multiprofessional assessment team, focusing on patients with acquired brain injuries, cerebral palsy, and other rare diagnoses. Based on referral questions, an interprofessional assessment team is assembled, which may include a psychologist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, social worker, speech therapist, doctor, and special educator. The assessment lasts 2-4 days, and the results are subsequently fed back to the referrer, guardians, and preschool/school.
Opportunities for remote administrative work are available depending on the unit's prerequisites.
About You
We are looking for a licensed occupational therapist. Your most important quality is the ability to communicate with children and parents, as well as a willingness to learn the diagnosis-specific assessment instruments used in the neuromuscular team. We see you as solution-focused, quality-conscious, and thriving with varied tasks. Your documentation skills are good. To be successful in the role, teamwork is essential. Personal suitability will be given great weight.
Selection and interviews will take place on an ongoing basis, so do not wait to apply!
We warmly welcome your application!
