About the Workplace
The Education Department is responsible for preschools, primary schools, after-school centers, upper secondary schools, adult education, and child and student health services. Approximately 1,100 employees work here, creating a safe and developmental school and childcare environment together.
At Ystad Gymnasium, 1,800 students attend, and we offer almost all national programs, introductory programs, and have an Adapted Upper Secondary School. The position is located within the National Sports Education (NIU).
Job Responsibilities
The position involves teaching in special sports – handball, including teaching within our national sports education program and the subject Special Sports Level 1 and Level 2. The teaching is directed towards girls, and the role also includes some education in Competition Theory with a focus on handball.
You will be part of the NIU work team, which belongs to Area 2, and team work is included in the position. The planning and implementation of the teaching will take place in close collaboration with our main NIU teacher.
Your teaching is varied, and you demonstrate clear leadership in teaching situations to ensure students reach as far as possible in their knowledge acquisition. The assignment includes communicating goals and development with students, staff, and guardians, as well as documenting, following up, and evaluating your work.
At the school, we place the student's learning at the center and actively work to develop teaching within the framework of our systematic quality work. We have high expectations of both students and staff and believe in their ability to develop. The teaching is characterized by diversity, participation, and influence, as well as a critical approach, where formative assessment and digital work are important tools for learning. Staff learn together and engage in active collegial learning.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are qualified to teach Special Sports with a focus on handball. A teaching license is meritorious. We would prefer that you have completed TU4 or higher.

Employment Conditions
- Salary: Monthly salary.
- Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
- Duration: 6 months or longer.
- Start date: 2026-08-10.
- Working hours: Daytime. 17.5 hours of workplace-based time and 5 hours of trust-based time. Teaching on weekday mornings (Monday to Thursday).
