Job Responsibilities
Do you want to work in the important role of a student assistant? We are located in our own premises at Bro School with classes in grades 1–6, but we belong to Ängslätt School. Here, we work with equal education and an adapted learning environment. The work is characterized by clear pedagogy, AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), and a low-affective approach. As a student assistant in special education, you work with one or more students, both during the school day and at the after-school center. You are part of a work team linked to the class and a work team at the after-school center, collaborating with other professional groups.
In your role, you follow the students throughout the day and contribute to their overall development – socially, communicatively, and academically. You are involved in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the pedagogical work, under the guidance of responsible educators in school and at the after-school center. You are also part of the after-school center's work team, where you contribute to operational development in collaboration with the responsible educator and school management. The assignment also includes elements of care and self-care. The work is varied and adapted to the students' different needs and conditions.
Qualifications
You, the applicant, have completed upper secondary education. It is meritorious if you have a focus on care or have equivalent knowledge through at least two years of experience working with children and young people with disabilities, especially intellectual disabilities. It is meritorious if you have previous experience working as a student assistant in special education and experience working with both physical and intellectual disabilities.
We would also like to see that you have worked with students with neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPD) and have practical experience using augmentative and alternative communication methods (AAC). You have good knowledge of different diagnoses and disabilities and how they are addressed.
You also have knowledge of low-affective approaches and insight into the school's governing documents, with the ability to apply them in daily work. The assignment requires a professional attitude, good teamwork skills, and flexibility in working methods. You are confident in the role of an adult role model, create trust and security in the meeting with students, and find it easy to build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You have the ability to take personal responsibility – both in the classroom and at the after-school center.
