Praktiska Gymnasiet Ystad is seeking a Vocational Teacher in Care and Nursing

About the School

Praktiska Gymnasiet Ystad offers students a concept where theory is interwoven with practical exercises both at school and at workplaces. At Praktiska, we hold ourselves to high standards to create the best conditions for an educational and enjoyable experience. Our teaching is characterized by flexibility, proximity, and practical learning. Our program offerings include: carpentry, painting, electrical work, hairdressing, styling, sales, plumbing, refrigeration, and nursing assistant programs. Currently, the school has just under 300 students and approximately 35 employees.

Your Role

This is a part-time position at 50%, starting as agreed. You will teach and supervise our students in care and nursing and, together with other colleagues, you will be part of a work team. We see you as a key driving force to develop both the program and the subject, with the students in focus and in collaboration with colleagues. In addition to vocational-specific tasks, you will have duties such as mentor, and together you and your colleagues will coach the students socially and academically throughout their three years at Praktiska Gymnasiet. We primarily communicate through Schoolsoft and StudyBee, and we work in a Google environment by sharing digital documents, calendars, and plans.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are a certified vocational teacher in care and nursing and are trained as a nurse or nursing assistant. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. If you lack teacher certification, you are still eligible to apply. In such cases, you and the school principal will jointly create a plan for how you can become qualified in the shortest possible time. The role involves contact with the business community, as a large part of the students' study time consists of work-based learning (APL), making good communication with employers an asset.
