The Social Services Administration is responsible for authority exercises, commissioning of interventions, and own management within the areas of individual and family care, LSS (Support and Service Act for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), and social psychiatry. Your Responsibilities

As a Housing Support Worker, you work rehabilitatively to support individuals in their ordinary housing or out in society. You act as a driving force to help clients with everything from contacting authorities, hygiene, and home life to practicing coping with social phobia, taking the bus, applying for financial assistance, or buying clothes. The goal is to guide the work towards clients becoming more independent and eventually no longer needing housing support.

You often work alone in the clients' homes, but if necessary and after a risk assessment, double staffing is applied. You will also be involved in our BAS activity, where clients with slightly greater needs get the opportunity to practice social situations in small groups. In our work, we use methods such as low-affective handling, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Independent Living (ESL).

Your Workplace

The position is located at Vasastaden Housing Support. Our target group within social psychiatry includes people with psychotic illnesses, neuropsychiatric diagnoses, and schizophrenia. We also meet clients with comorbidity, substance abuse issues, and criminality, which places high demands on professional handling.

You will be part of a secure and flexible work group of seven people who have worked together for a long time. We are a team that supports each other and possesses great competence regarding various mental functional variations. We also have close collaboration with, among others, the psychiatric care.

You Who Apply

We are looking for you who have at least one completed upper secondary education. It is highly meritorious if you have a university education such as adult pedagogy, behavioral science, occupational therapy, treatment pedagogy, or support pedagogy. You have previous work experience within psychiatry and working with the current target group. It is also meritorious if you have knowledge of our work methods; low-affective handling, MI, and ESL.

A Category B driver's license for manual transmission and the ability to cycle are requirements for the position. Since the work takes place in the clients' homes, an extract from the criminal record may become relevant.

To succeed in the role, it is required that you are self-reliant, structured, and flexible, as the work involves a lot of independent work and that you continuously need to adapt to new situations. You possess personal maturity to handle tough and challenging situations that may arise. Furthermore, you are good at creating safe relationships with clients and have good cooperation skills to function well with colleagues and external collaboration partners.
