At Region Dalarna, you will find meaningful work where you can make a difference. Together, we work towards a sustainable Dalarna with development potential in all parts of the county.

About the Role

We are offering a 1-year fixed-term position as Unit Manager for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) Unit 68 in Falun. Do you want to lead and develop a vital service for children and young people in Dalarna? We are currently seeking a temporary Unit Manager for BUP Unit 68 in Falun – a county resource providing 24/7 care and an acute team, where commitment, teamwork, and the best interests of the child are at the center.

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) is a service with an important societal mission. Mental ill-health among children and young people is increasing, while the field is characterized by strong developments in research, diagnostics, and treatment methods. BUP receives children and young people with moderate to severe child psychiatric issues who need specialized interventions. We work with evidence-based treatment methods, and all treatment takes place in close collaboration with the family, other networks, and other healthcare providers, such as schools and social services.

BUP Dalarna consists of five outpatient clinics included in the Vårdval system, as well as county resources with 24/7 care including an acute team, family therapy unit, eating disorders unit, the triage function "En väg in" (One Way In), and from autumn, also the Mini-Maria service.

Unit 68 is a county resource within BUP Dalarna and currently has four inpatient beds. In the autumn, we plan to open an additional bed aimed at the target group for Mini-Maria. The unit's mission is to meet acute situations and offer shorter admissions. The work is varied and characterized by both acute interventions and good opportunities to provide individual support to each patient.

The acute team, which is part of the unit's mission, provides support in ongoing crisis situations and also receives patients who do not have an ongoing contact with BUP's outpatient care for assessment of potential care needs.

Nurses, nursing assistants, care assistants, social workers, and doctors work in close collaboration on the unit and in the acute team. The operations are characterized by teamwork, commitment, and responsiveness, with the child or young person and the family in focus.

Responsibilities

Your Role:

As Unit Manager, you have overall responsibility for operations, staff, working environment, staffing, and economy. You lead the operational and administrative work at the unit and have overarching responsibility for information and communication within the unit.

You play a key role in continuing to develop the unit and the acute team. Development work takes place in close collaboration with other parts of BUP as well as with care partners both within and outside your own division. The assignment therefore involves creating structure, promoting collaboration, and contributing to a cohesive care chain for children, young people, and their families.

The position is located in Falun, and you are part of BUP's management group.

Qualifications

Requirements:

We are looking for you who have a relevant university degree, preferably within healthcare, behavioral science, social work, or another area that the employer considers relevant for the assignment.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience working within child and adolescent psychiatry, psychiatry, or other relevant healthcare operations.
  • Further education within your profession.
  • Experience in managerial or leadership roles.
  • Experience working with working environment, staffing, operational development, or change management.
  • Experience collaborating with other healthcare providers, schools, social services, or other external actors.

To succeed in the role, you need to be secure in your leadership and have the ability to create structure, participation, and engagement in a operation with varying pace. You need to be able to make decisions, prioritize, and handle complex situations in a solution-focused manner. We are looking for you who have good collaboration skills, are responsive and communicative, and have a clear interest in BUP's mission. As a person, you are empathetic, committed, and stable even in pressured situations. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
