For the kitchen at Höglandskolan, we are looking for a kitchen assistant on a 50% basis for the period from August 17, 2026, to April 30, 2027. Working hours are 08:00–12:00, Monday–Friday, excluding public holidays.

Responsibilities

You will work together with chefs in the kitchen, preparing meals and handling simple cooking tasks. Duties include dishwashing, cleaning, packaging, and handling goods. You will also assist with serving in the dining hall.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment is desirable, along with familiarity with working according to self-control routines and checklists.

We are looking for someone who thrives both independently and in a team, is flexible, and service-oriented. You must have good command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, to understand work orders, routines, checklists, and to communicate effectively and safely in the workplace.

Our working method involves covering for one another, which means you may be required to work in other kitchens within the organization. Together with other staff members in other kitchens in the area, you will be part of a larger team with the kitchen unit manager as your direct supervisor.

The Consultancy and Service Administration provides support and services to various departments in our areas of property, operations and maintenance, catering, IT, and administrative support services.

During the interview process, we will conduct an identity check and verify citizenship. Accepted documents include a passport, international ID card, driver's license plus a personal registration certificate from the Swedish Tax Agency, or other ID documents that strengthen proof of citizenship. For some positions, a certificate of good conduct (extract from the police's suspicion and criminal records) is required. We welcome proficiency in Finnish and/or any of the Sami varieties, as Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both a Finnish and a Sami administrative area.

Several positions in our municipality are classified for security reasons, so a security clearance check may be required. These positions may require Swedish citizenship.
