The work is carried out 24/7, year-round, with the aim of increasing the Swedish Armed Forces' operational safety and effectiveness. Approximately 50 employees work at METOCC, divided into three departments (Production Department, Education Department, and Method and Systems Department). We have an even distribution between officers and civilians, as well as between women and men. The Education Department is responsible for most of the weather training in the Swedish Armed Forces, both for its own personnel and other Armed Forces employees, and occasionally for civilian meteorology students in collaboration with universities. We are also responsible for recruiting future Swedish Armed Forces meteorologists. The work involves significant personal responsibility to plan and structure your work. Sometimes you work alone, but most often the work takes place in a team consisting of both civilian and military employees. The tasks vary over time depending on the needs of the operation, but a large part of the tasks involve attraction work and recruitment for the position of Swedish Armed Forces meteorologist, which includes, for example:
- Conducting parts of the recruitment process, e.g., being responsible for contact with candidate applicants and booking admission tests.
- Planning, administering, and conducting recruitment-promoting activities and study visits to attract future personnel.
- Collaborating with other functions within the unit.
- Collaborating and maintaining contact with other units, authorities, and universities.
- Handling contact with existing meteorology aspirants who are undergoing training.

You take initiative and drive the work forward. You have the ability to switch between individual work and group work. You share your knowledge, experience, and information.
