Job Description
As a Laboratory Technician at DAVA Foods Sweden, you will support quality control and product development through sampling, analysis, and documentation of food products. This role is crucial for ensuring that products comply with current legislation, quality requirements, and safety standards, while also contributing to innovation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze incoming samples according to the test plan (sample preparation, registration, analysis, sending samples to external labs, reporting).
- Develop test specifications and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
- Conduct and report hygiene checks according to the test plan.
- Participate in proficiency testing (ring tests).
- Release products after approved analysis results.
- Report analysis results (internal & external) to the Laboratory Coordinator / Quality Manager.
- Issue and send analysis certificates to customers.
- Plan, conduct, and report shelf-life tests according to the plan in collaboration with the team.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Participate in troubleshooting and investigations regarding quality deviations.
- Follow current procedures for food safety, good laboratory practice, and occupational health and safety regulations.
- Contribute to improvement work and innovation in product development.
Qualifications
- Training as a Laboratory Technician or relevant higher education in biotechnology, food science, chemistry, or microbiology.
- Experience in laboratory work, preferably within the food industry.
- Experience in conducting tests, protein and activity analyses, as well as microbiological analyses.
- Basic knowledge of microbiology and chemical analysis methods.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including contact with customers and external laboratories.
- Fluency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Preferred Qualifications
- Good computer skills and experience working with quality systems (e.g., ISO, HACCP).
- Understanding of food safety and sustainability requirements.
