Support Educator for Daily Activities – Make a Difference in People's Path to Work and Studies

The Social Services Administration works from a holistic perspective on citizens' needs and therefore has a cohesive social services administration that handles the entire mandate of social services, under the motto "We support an independent life". We work purposefully to create an organization with high competence and quality. An organization with user participation where the individual's needs are put at the center.

We are looking for you who want to make a difference and contribute to people's path to work and studies!

As part of our daily activities, we offer support to people with disabilities to approach working life through individual placements. Ahead of autumn, the operations face an exciting development as we will offer open interventions. Here you get the opportunity to develop a new way of working together with your colleagues.

You will be part of a work group together with two colleagues and collaborate closely with other employees within daily activities. The work also involves cooperation with external actors such as the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, business life, and non-profit organizations.

Job Responsibilities

In the role of support educator, you work to map individuals' interests, strengths, and needs regarding work or studies. You plan and structure the participants' workdays and tasks, working purposefully based on individual goals and sub-goals. A central part of the assignment is to follow up on placements in collaboration with the participant and supervisors at the workplace, as well as to conduct regular workplace visits. The role also includes a proactive and relationship-building work where you establish contact with potential partners who can host participants, meaning you need to enjoy networking.

You also contribute to the development of the operations' working methods, where methods such as Supported Employment (SE), Supported Education (SEd), and Individual Placement and Support (IPS) are used. The work is done in close collaboration with participants, colleagues, and external partners, with the individual's development in focus.

The assignment is primarily governed by the Act concerning Support and Service for Certain Functionally Impaired Persons (LSS), the Social Services Act (SoL), the National Board of Health and Welfare's regulations and general advice, municipal steering documents, and the individual's implementation plan.

The target group includes persons with intellectual disabilities, autism, or autism-like conditions, as well as persons with mental or physical disabilities. Interventions are given to individuals with decisions according to LSS or SoL, as well as to persons participating in interventions without needs assessment (IUB).

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a bachelor's degree or other education that the employer considers equivalent. It is meritorious if you have experience of working within disability care, work-oriented rehabilitation, or similar operations, as well as documented experience of working with relevant methods.

You work in a structured and solution-focused manner with a listening approach and have the ability to motivate, inspire, and create trusting relationships. You enjoy working both independently and together with others, take responsibility in your role, and actively contribute to the team's joint work. We also see that you are proactive, see opportunities, and want to be part of developing the operations forward.

A valid Category B driver's license is required.

Interviews and Employment Terms

Interviews will be held during weeks 34 and 35.

If you are called for an interview, you need to be able to prove your identity in one of the following three ways: - Passport - National ID card showing citizenship - ID card combined with a certificate of residence where citizenship is shown. If you are a citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA, you also need to show a valid residence permit and/or work permit in Sweden.

To ensure the safety of the users, a police certificate for work with elderly and persons with disabilities must be presented prior to employment. You order the certificate yourself from the Police, and the certificate must not be older than six months.

We offer benefits such as holiday exchange, company bike, wellness allowance, as well as good opportunities for competence development.
