to apply for the job
We are now looking for a Foreman for our special operations at the Järna site, with a focus on our guardrail group. Guardrail installation is a growing segment within Svevia. The operations include new installation, replacement, and repair of road barriers, as well as advisory services regarding type selection and installation. Svevia works with both energy-absorbing terminals and CE-marked guardrail systems – from drilling and post driving to final installation and documentation.
Building and maintaining roads and infrastructure is significant. Contributing to societal development is even greater. With us, you get to do both. Within Svevia, we combine the community and team spirit of a small company with the stability of a large corporation. Here, you have the opportunity to develop as a road specialist – with commitment, collaboration, and responsibility.
Your role as Foreman
As a foreman at Svevia, you will have a varied and responsible role where you are involved throughout the entire project chain – from calculation and planning to execution and follow-up. You ensure that the work is carried out according to plan, with a focus on quality, safety, and economy, while coordinating and leading both our own employees and subcontractors.
You will become an important part of the continued development of the business and have the opportunity to contribute to streamlining and digitalizing working methods and processes within the team.
In the role, you will work with, among other things:
- Supervision and coordination of production
- Planning and resource allocation
- Economic follow-up and cost control
- Invoicing and administrative follow-up
We offer a role with great freedom under responsibility, where you plan and prioritize your work yourself based on the needs of the business. The work occasionally involves travel within the area to calculate jobs, conduct site visits, and ensure that production has the right prerequisites. Overnight stays occur a few nights per month.
The position is full-time with placement at Svevia’s site in Järna. Working hours are mainly weekdays from 07:00–16:00, but work during inconvenient hours may occur depending on business needs. Start date is by agreement.
Who are you?
To be considered for the foreman position, we would like you to have:
- Experience in supervision/foremanship
- Category B driver’s license
- Good computer skills and a strong interest in digital working methods
- Good proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written
Additionally, the following are meritorious:
- Category C driver’s license (highly meritorious)
- Previous experience with guardrail installation
- Experience working on Road Class 2.2
Your personality is important to us! We believe you are motivated by structure, order, and routine with an administrative streak. Furthermore, you are confident and trustworthy, have a business-like approach with a focus on profitability. You have the ability to create good collaborations with customers and employees. Solving problems independently, taking initiative, and making decisions come naturally to you, and you value clear communication at all levels. It is also a great advantage to live close to the office to be able to be on-site quickly when on call.
A part of something bigger
Svevia is today Sweden’s largest operations contractor. Within operations and maintenance, we handle, among other things, summer and winter road maintenance for half of the state’s road network. Many municipalities, private companies, and road associations hire us to take care of their roads and outdoor environments.
With us, you contribute to a larger whole. We plow for the family heading to the mountains. We ensure that commercial goods transport reaches its destination and ensure that streets, squares, and parks are clean and tidy. Additionally, we protect lives on the road through our offerings in traffic safety devices.
Why Svevia?
Based on Svevia’s strategies, goals, and values, you get the prerequisites needed to make a difference and contribute to the company’s development. Decision-making paths are short, it is easy to influence and have your voice heard. And with us, leadership is in focus, which means you continuously have the opportunity to develop in your role.
We care about being a workplace for everyone. Leading through your employees is seen as a matter of course. It is as a team that we create success. This is how we do business and generate results. This is how we make cities and the countryside function. Do you want to share the road with us?
Application and information
The position is a permanent employment starting by agreement, but we would prefer if you could start after the summer. You apply easily by sending in your CV and answering a few selection questions. Our recruitment process is based on a competency-based approach, which is a prerequisite for recruiting in a quality-assured, inclusive, and unbiased manner. Therefore, we do not want a cover letter.
This process includes tests, and we use MAP (personality test) and Matrigma (work psychological test). The final candidate will also be subject to a background check.
