Job Description

The Södertörn Cross-Connection is a crucial piece of the puzzle in creating a more accessible Södertörn. We are building a completely new traffic solution for improved safety and smoother transport options through a two-mile grade-separated motor traffic road with a separate pedestrian and cycle path from Kungens Kurva, via Flemingsberg, to Jordbro.

Organizationally, the Södertörn Cross-Connection is a program within Trafikverket's Major Projects, and the program is currently divided into ten projects responsible for different sections. We are now looking for an experienced project manager for one of these projects, the Flemingsberg Tunnel project.

The Flemingsberg Tunnel project includes two execution contracts: a rock tunnel contract of 3.1 kilometers and a preparatory contract where the rerouting of Road 259 is to be carried out to provide access to pre-excavations. The project's budget is in the order of 2.5 billion SEK, which means a comprehensive project with many complex issues to be solved and coordinated.

This role offers the opportunity to take overall responsibility for, among other things, design, procurement, and implementation of the contracts included in the project. In a project of this size, you have an overarching project management role that places high demands on leadership, communication, coordination, and good administrative skills.

As Project Manager for the Flemingsberg Tunnel, you are responsible for:

• leading and engaging your project team, consisting of various competencies including assistant project managers, sub-project managers for design, sub-project managers for production, project engineers, construction managers, and specialists
• leading, monitoring, and steering the project towards agreed time, cost, and content
• ensuring that the project's deliverables meet the requirements set for the project
• risk management as well as quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety issues in the project
• coordinating with adjacent projects and external stakeholders
• creating good business outcomes for the various procurements within the project
• ensuring that the project works according to established methods within Trafikverket and the program, and contributes to their development.

You are a key person in the program's organization and will be the client's representative for the project both internally and externally.

The Södertörn Cross-Connection received its construction start decision earlier this spring, so you will be entering an exciting phase where the project plans for the procurement of the preparatory contract in autumn 2026 with construction start in 2027. At the same time, the design for the rock tunnel contract will continue until summer 2027. We are working on preparing request for proposals, designing structures, and adjusting and implementing certain technical solutions to reduce costs in the project.

Qualifications

To succeed in the role, you have very good leadership skills where you build trust, deliver results, and drive development that contributes to the organization reaching its goals and creating value. You collaborate and have good communication skills, which means you convey messages in a simple way, are receptive, and adapt your communication to the recipient. Furthermore, you are good at structuring your work and thrive when you can use your analytical problem-solving skills. You also have the ability to see the big picture and make decisions that take into account both the project's and the program's collective goals.

We are looking for you who have:

• a university or college education of at least 180 HP with a focus on construction technology within civil engineering, or alternatively another relevant technical education combined with experience assessed as equivalent
• several years of current and relevant experience as a project manager for major infrastructure projects in the construction phase, or alternatively in another relevant leadership role with responsibilities as described above
• several years of current experience in leading teams consisting of various competencies in large organizations
• good knowledge of contract law (standard agreements ABK and AB) and extensive experience in handling and reviewing contract documents
• good computer skills and good knowledge of the Office suite
• good knowledge of both Swedish and English in speech and writing
• a driver's license for passenger cars.

It is meritorious if you have:

• several years of current and relevant experience of extensive rock tunnel work in major infrastructure projects
• knowledge of Trafikverket's infrastructure regulations and AMA
• good negotiation skills with suppliers, municipalities, and other stakeholders
• experience working with procurement of contracts within infrastructure projects.

Other Information

The location for this position is the project office in Flemingsberg (Huddinge).
