We are looking for a Security Officer to join the Service Unit at the Swedish Migration Agency. Here, you will work with current societal issues influenced by developments in our surroundings. Issues that touch and engage people. We offer a dynamic environment characterized by interaction with people and continuous learning.

What does a Security Officer do?

As a Security Officer at the Service Unit of the Swedish Migration Agency, you are part of an agency-wide resource for operational security matters regarding the Agency's shared administrative premises, storage facilities, and also our facility accommodations within the geographic region. Together with the Swedish Migration Agency's Security Division, the Service Units provide expertise in several security areas.

As a Security Officer, you will have coordination and follow-up responsibility for systematic fire safety work, access control, physical premises security, CCTV, guarding and alarm management, security risk analysis, security, crisis, and evacuation planning, as well as card and access administration. You work in consultation with the operations as well as with other Security Officers and employees at the unit and at other Service Units. The role involves business travel, both within and outside the region.

You act as an advisor and offer support to other units within the operations. To contribute to this, it is required to monitor the external environment and network both within and outside the Agency. You have local client responsibility within the security area. Furthermore, you are the unit's contact person towards our suppliers of security systems, locks/alarms/access, guarding, and fire safety.

Finally, you contribute to improvement work by conducting certain analyses and follow-ups in all areas and planning measures together with other Security Officers and employees at the unit, but also in the national network of Security Officers available at the Service Units. You follow up and rectify any deficiencies based on inspection reports in our shared premises. You are responsible for managing technical installations within the security area and for maintaining and developing routines within your area of responsibility.

Who are you?

As a person, you adapt easily to changed circumstances and quickly adjust your approach to the current situation. You have good collaboration skills and relate to people in a listening and flexible manner. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively. In your role, you ensure the best interests of the entire operation in actions and decisions. You are independent and take into account applicable regulations.

The ideal candidate has

  • Post-secondary education with a focus on technical security, risk or crisis management, or other equivalent education combined with work experience that the employer deems equivalent
  • Experience in continuity planning (disaster plan/business continuity plan)
  • Knowledge of current legislation regarding the Security Protection Act, the Work Environment Act, etc.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing, in both Swedish and English
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
  • Valid driver's license (Category B)
  • Swedish citizenship

It is meritorious if you have

  • Experience in security work within the public sector
  • Knowledge of security routines in secured environments
  • Experience with practical security technology connected via Unison or other overarching alarm management systems
  • Experience in project-based work with premises security
  • Experience with practical SBA (Activity-Based Security) work
  • Experience working according to activity-based methods

A security clearance with register check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) will be conducted. Based on this, there is a requirement for Swedish citizenship. The employment presupposes a passed security clearance.
