RESPONSIBILITIES
As a special needs educator, you will be part of a work team with three colleagues with similar roles. Organizationally, the special needs educators, together with the preschool principals, report to the Operations Manager for Preschool.
The role involves working promotively, preventively, and remedially by mapping needs and providing specific support to create the best possible conditions for children's learning and development.
This includes, among other things, the special needs educators:
- carrying out preventive work at the organizational, group, and individual levels
- collaborating closely with principals
- conducting mappings, observations, as well as documentation and follow-ups
- providing consultative support and supervision to individual educators and work teams
- participating in conversations with guardians when necessary
- serving as the preschool's representative in the Child Health Team
- collaborating internally and externally through team, steering group, and network meetings
Currently, special needs educators are conducting training in ADHD/Autism (NPF), Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), ICDP, and Special Play Groups. It is important that you stay updated on research and monitor developments in the field.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are educated or nearing the end of your education as a special needs educator with a focus on preschool, and who have a good understanding of the preschool's mission.
We place great emphasis on responsibility, flexibility, teamwork skills, and the ability to work independently. You work with many work teams and therefore need to have good skills in planning and structuring your work. You have an inclusive and solution-focused approach, see opportunities, and adapt easily to changing circumstances. You have good skills in expressing yourself clearly in speech and writing.
A valid driver's license (Category B) is required.
We would appreciate if you have experience and knowledge in working with a multicultural approach and how to work interculturally and inclusively with multicultural groups.
Merits: experience in supervising work teams, knowledge in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), ADHD/Autism (NPF), and ICDP (trainer).
Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer.
Start date: To be agreed upon.
End date: 2027-06-30.
Background Check
To work in preschools, schools, and youth/recreation activities, you must, according to the Register Control Act, provide a certificate of good conduct from the police. You must request this certificate yourself from the Swedish Police Authority using the form "Extract from the Criminal Record Register" available in the form archive on the police website.
