About the Schools
Kungsfiskareskolan is located in the eastern part of Klippan and is primarily a three-stream primary school (grades F–6) with approximately 420 students.
Snyggatorpsskolan is located centrally in Klippan and is a lower secondary school (grades 7–9) with approximately 500 students.
Job Responsibilities
Do you want to help develop school libraries that make a real difference for students' reading enjoyment, learning, and language and knowledge development? We are now looking for an enthusiastic school librarian. Here, you will have the opportunity to work closely with students and teachers and contribute to making the school libraries a natural and vibrant part of the teaching.
As a school librarian, you play a key role in the schools' pedagogical work. During school hours, you meet students in the library and in classrooms, spark curiosity for literature, and strengthen students' ability to search for, evaluate, and use information. Together with teachers, you plan and implement activities in classes and smaller groups that develop students' reading skills, critical thinking, and media and information literacy (MIL).
The position is shared between Kungsfiskareskolan (F–6) and Snyggatorpsskolan (7–9), giving you an exciting opportunity to follow and support students' reading development and information competence from the younger years through to lower secondary school. You work closely with school leadership, teachers, and student health services, becoming an important part of the schools' joint work to increase goal achievement, study environment, and equal education.
The role includes responsibility for and the development of library services at both schools. You create accessible, safe, and inspiring library environments where students want to read, explore, and learn. You are responsible for the purchase, management, and accessibility of media. Here, you will have a varied, independent, and meaningful assignment where your skills are utilized in the school's collective pedagogical work.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who are trained as a librarian with a degree in library and information science or another education that the employer considers equivalent. You have a genuine interest in children and young people, reading, learning, and the school's mission. Experience from working in school libraries, public libraries, or other pedagogical activities is meritorious. Knowledge of library administrative systems is desirable.
You are confident working both independently and collaboratively. You have good digital competence and are clear in your oral and written expression. As a person, you are relationship-building, solution-focused, and flexible. You have the student's best interests at heart and collaborate well with students, teachers, and other staff. Above all, you want to help build school libraries that inspire, include, and strengthen students' future opportunities.
