Drottning Blankas Gymnasieskola in Lund was established in 2011 and offers vocational and university-preparatory education.

We are a school with approximately 480 students and 40 employees. Our school is located in the heart of the knowledge center – Lund. Centrally located on Skomakaregatan. Here you have very close access to both commuting options and community life. We are a personal and creative school where responsibility and engagement are a matter of course, with the student in focus. At our school in Lund, we have the Aesthetic Programme, Image and Design (Design and interior design or graphic design and advertising), the Craft Programme (Hair and makeup styling), the Economics Programme with a focus on economics, and the Social Sciences Programme with a focus on Uniform and Behavior. Full-time mentors work at the school.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your main area of responsibility will be to continue building our library and integrating it into our operations. Some administrative tasks are included.

This involves standard tasks in a school library, including among others:

• Collaborate with teachers on various projects.
• Teach in classrooms, including information searching and source criticism.
• Work to promote reading in various ways, e.g., by visiting classes and giving book tips.
• Be involved in, or independently drive, various projects, such as a book club when time permits.
• Your work also includes purchasing and handling media and educational materials. This means you will be responsible for ensuring the distribution of educational materials to all students at the start of each academic year runs smoothly, and then collecting them at the end of the year.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are at the end of or have completed a librarian education. You have experience of library work and preferably specifically within school libraries. We also see it as meritorious if you have experience of work other than school- or library-related. You have good computer skills and enjoy learning new technology and utilizing the possibilities of technology. You like to manage and plan your daily work but must also be flexible and enjoy meeting unexpected challenges that arise. Periodically, for example at the start and end of the academic year, we have work peaks and the pace of work can be higher and this may involve slightly more working time then. As the work involves a lot of contact with teachers and students, we believe you need to be outgoing and enjoy the social aspect to thrive in your role. You are solution-focused and have a good ability to collaborate and communicate and enjoy trying new paths. It is important that you feel equally comfortable in the role as a collaborator as in starting and more independently driving various projects. If you have experience with WELIB, it is an advantage. Great importance is attached to personal suitability and experience.
