About the workplace

Björkängsskolan is a school for grades 4–6 with just under 200 students, located in central Töreboda with good transport connections to nearby municipalities. In spring 2028, Björkängsskolan will move into a brand new school building together with Kilenskolan, which is a preschool–grade 3 school. The new combined school, Kilängsskolan, will serve grades preschool through 6.

At Björkängsskolan, we share a common vision regarding safety and a conducive learning environment. We have strong cohesion among our teaching teams.

The school has developed a common foundation for leadership and support, and we place a strong emphasis on individual adaptations.

Björkängsskolan employs only qualified teachers. We have a Student Health Team (EHT) dedicated to Björkängsskolan four days a week.

Björkängsskolan is currently looking for a certified teacher for grades 4–6, primarily in Swedish, English, Mathematics, and Science (Naturorienterande ämnen). We hope you are the person we are looking for.

There is now an opportunity for a permanent, full-time (100%) position at Björkängsskolan starting August 12, 2026, or as agreed upon. We are seeking a teacher with broad subject qualifications, as Björkängsskolan operates on a subject-specialist teaching model.

About you

We prefer that applicants hold a teaching degree/certification for multiple subjects in grades 4–6. Please specify your certified subjects in your application. We are looking for someone passionate about teaching and who puts the student at the center of their work.

• You possess strong collaboration skills and communicate from a solution-focused perspective in every interaction with colleagues, students, and parents.
• You are curious and interested in meeting and supporting all students based on their individual needs.
• You can work independently and, together with the teaching team, plan, implement, and evaluate pedagogical work for students according to the school curriculum.
• You are a confident person with good self-awareness.
• You are clear in your leadership style while simultaneously fostering engagement and participation.
• You are interested in driving pedagogical development and have an interest in research and development.
• Experience with grading is considered an asset.

We are seeking a driven person with great commitment. We also appreciate good IT skills.

Responsibilities

You will work as a subject teacher with mentorship responsibilities for a specific grade level.

Qualifications

Primary teacher certification for grades 4–6 and valid teaching license.

Töreboda Municipality offers monthly employees a wellness allowance of 1,250 SEK per year. As a pedagogical staff member, you can have a pedagogical lunch for 25 SEK per meal.

As a teacher within the education sector, you can expect a salary between 37,000 – 43,000 SEK, depending on experience and competence. Individual salary setting applies.
