About Sjöby School
Sjöby School is a preschool to grade 6 school (F-6) in Horred with approximately 180 students. The school receives students from a nearby preschool to grade 3 (F-3) school starting in grade 4. Therefore, in grades F-3, we have one class per year group, and from grade 4 onwards, we have two classes per year group. The school has well-equipped facilities, and the leisure-time center (fritidshem) has its own dedicated spaces for its activities.
About the Position
We are looking for you who want to work in a leisure-time center where the pedagogical mission is at the center, and where you have the opportunity to influence, develop, and make a difference in the students' entire school day.
Here, you will become part of an engaged team that together is responsible for approximately 80 students from preschool class to grade 6. The leisure-time center is divided into two departments:
- Näckrosen (Preschool class – Grade 1)
- Klubben (Grade 2 – Grade 6)
The leisure-time center has a total of eight employees in the work team and actively works to strengthen pedagogical competence within the leisure-time center. Therefore, we are now looking for more qualified leisure-time teachers who want to develop the operations together with us.
We welcome both experienced and newly graduated applicants. As a new professional, you will receive support from an experienced colleague with long experience in the leisure-time center's operations and pedagogical mission.
Responsibilities
As a primary teacher in the leisure-time center, you are responsible, together with colleagues, for planning, implementing, following up on, and developing teaching in the leisure-time center based on the goals and central content of the curriculum.
You contribute to creating an operation that promotes the students' development, learning, social relationships, and meaningful leisure time.
The position includes, among other things:
- Planning and implementing teaching in the leisure-time center
- Developing learning environments that stimulate students' creativity, cooperation, and independence
- Collaborating with teachers and other professions to create a holistic approach to the students' school day
- Working with students' social development and participation
- Participating in systematic quality work
- Contributing to the development of the school's recess activities
A special area of development for us is the recess activities. We are therefore looking for you who want to help develop our work with Well-being Leaders (Trivselledare) and create meaningful, inclusive, and pedagogically thoughtful recess activities that contribute to security, community, and joy of movement.
