to apply for the job
We are now looking for more substitutes for the summer of 2026! As a summer substitute in the elderly care sector in Berg Municipality, you will be an important piece of the puzzle in supporting and serving our elderly citizens. The role of a substitute is crucial for ensuring our operations run smoothly around the clock, every day of the year. Together with your colleagues, you will have a meaningful job with high flexibility, and there is an opportunity to combine work in nursing homes with home care or local cleaning services.
We offer a summer bonus for those who work at least 75% for at least 8 weeks.
Job Responsibilities
As an hourly substitute in elderly care in Berg, you will be employed at the respective unit. The work as an hourly substitute includes care and social support based on a salutogenic approach. This means you help people living in our special housing or living at home. Tasks include, for example: dressing, preparing meals, serving, hygiene, and cleaning. Tasks delegated by licensed healthcare personnel may also be relevant, such as administering medication. Collaboration is a very important part of your work, as you share responsibility with many other colleagues for the interventions granted to each individual.
We are now looking for more substitutes for our operations; we hope you apply and become our new colleague!
Qualifications and Personal Attributes
The need for substitutes exists at several of our units, so we welcome you regardless of whether you have previous education or experience in care and nursing. If you are a nursing assistant or have previous experience as a care aide, we view this positively but it is not mandatory! The most important thing for us is you as a person, above all that you are efficient and professional in your approach, as well as being good at communicating and having an easy time collaborating. To be eligible as a substitute in care and nursing, you must be at least 18 years old and able to express yourself and understand Swedish well in both speech and writing. The ability to work evenings and weekends during part of your time is a requirement. We consider it meritorious if you have education and/or previous experience in elderly care.
Berg Municipality is a Sami administrative municipality, so we consider it meritorious if you have knowledge of South Sami language and culture.
The Recruitment Process
We work with an electronic substitute procurement system, Time Pool, which means you must have access to the internet for us to be able to offer you work. You are responsible for entering the times you can work and for responding to inquiries as soon as possible. Being a substitute may mean that the need for work can change quickly.
We will review your application and get back to you as soon as possible. If we assess that your application is interesting, you will be contacted by us to schedule an interview. The interview may be conducted remotely via Microsoft Teams. Otherwise, feedback will be provided via email. For questions about the recruitment process, you are welcome to contact our administrators; their contact details are available below via our switchboard.
What We Offer
