About the Role

Are you looking for an exciting job where you can help build Sweden's sustainable energy society?

We are currently looking for a Substation Technician for ONE Nordic in Växjö. You should be residing in the local region, as the position may lead to permanent employment with the company.

The role involves the operation, maintenance, and installation of electrical power plants, switchgear, and transformer stations (from 0.4 kV up to 400 kV). This is a socially vital role where you ensure power supply and build the energy infrastructure of the future. It is a job where you combine practical fieldwork with technical problem-solving.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairs, such as analyzing faults in circuit breakers, transformers, and other switchgear equipment. You will also perform preventive maintenance, such as inspections, testing, and planned servicing to prevent downtime. During expansion projects, you will assemble and commission new equipment for grid and industrial expansions.

You will be based from home, meaning you will take your company car home with you. Working hours are 07:00–16:00, with occasional overtime. Travel is rare, but may involve approximately 3–4 nights away from home per year. On-call duties may apply after a year of service.

Your Profile

You have a high school diploma, post-secondary education, or other training in electrical and/or power engineering. Experience in electrical and/or high-voltage work is considered an asset. As a substation technician, you are as much a mechanic as an electrician, so good manual skills in mechanics are beneficial.

You hold a valid B-driver's license, as the work is mostly performed in the field. You must be able to speak and communicate fluently in both Swedish and English.
