Workplace Description
St. Erik's Gymnasium is a large municipal upper secondary school on Kungsholmen in central Stockholm. Within the school's premises, we have several operations including St. Erik's Gymnasium with Adult Education (Komvux), Polhem's Adapted Upper Secondary School with short-term supervision, and RGRH (National Gymnasium for People with Physical Disabilities) including habilitation and student housing. These operations offer a wide range of educational programs.
At St. Erik's Gymnasium, we have approximately 1,300 students and 140 employees, as well as Komvux with about 100 students. RGRH has approximately 32 students and 70 employees, and Polhem's Adapted Upper Secondary School has approximately 200 students and 100 employees. You will be part of the administrative unit, which currently consists of an administrative manager, IT, Internal Services (premises/maintenance), student administration (including reception & scheduling), and finance & personnel administration.
We are now looking for a School Caretaker/IT specialist with experience in property services, maintenance, and IT skills. The main placement is within Internal Services. Internal Services currently consists of three caretaker positions and a supervisor/premises manager with coordination responsibilities.
The administrative department provides service to all operations. Areas of responsibility within the administrative department include, among others, internal services, scheduling, reception, HR, IT & telephony, finance, purchasing and procurement, archiving and filing, and monitoring of premises cleaning and facilities. It is a department that serves the school's students and staff as well as citizens.
Job Description
As a caretaker with experience in property services and maintenance, you will be part of Internal Services, providing service to employees and school operations. Daily tasks include supervision, maintenance, furnishing, assembly, and repairs of premises, equipment, and furniture, as well as delivery and goods receiving. Heavy lifting with the help of aids occurs. You handle cases in the school's case management system, report faults, and follow up on property matters with the property owner, SISAB. Some cases and premises/property renovations need to be driven in project form and investigated before action is taken in collaboration with the property owner, SISAB.
The work also includes systematic fire protection work (SBA), lock and key management in the Cliq and ARX systems, and handling of light and sound. You also perform quality controls of property services and premises cleaning.
As an IT-proficient employee, you should be helpful within the IT function with IT-related tasks such as ongoing IT cases and projects, as well as mixer and sound-related tasks.
You may also perform other tasks associated with your employment.
You should have experience in similar work and be accustomed to working in the Office package and other digital tools.
The tasks imply that you are service-oriented, have good initiative, orderliness, and coordination skills, can express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish, and can communicate with external contractors, employees, and adapt pedagogically with students.
Qualifications:
- Documented experience working as a caretaker, property caretaker, craftsman, or similar.
- Documented experience working within IT.
- Good knowledge of handling mixer and light-related tasks (AV equipment).
- Knowledge of handling and actions via case management systems.
- Experience working in the Office package and other digital tools.
Meritorious:
- Experience with exchange management, Cliq, and ARX.

You must be able to work both independently and in a team. You are solution-oriented without taking shortcuts. You must be able to prioritize during periods of high workload. You are practically minded in a craftsman-like manner and have experience from all parts of the job description. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities and reference checks.
We value if you have experience of policy documents and have previously worked within schools. Meritorious if you have previously worked within Stockholm City.
