AFRY has Nordic roots with a global reach. Our shared principles – Result driven, Client centric, Empowering, and Accountable – guide how we work, develop, and succeed together. Join us in accelerating the transition to a sustainable society.

Job Description

Our region consists of nearly 1,200 employees driven by the mission to create tomorrow's sustainable infrastructure. Perhaps you are also driven by development, innovation, and finding the right collaborations and clients who wish to develop with our help.

Within the business area Road & Rail, nearly 1,100 specialists work in Sweden, including our strategic sustainability services, assignments, and design projects. We have a highly appreciated work climate where we support and encourage each other, allowing everyone to grow.

AFRY has several exciting projects and framework agreements, which means we need to expand our team. The Land and Development Group currently consists of nine employees with competencies in development, property law, surveying, GIS, land negotiation, and project management. We are located in Gothenburg, Trollhättan, and Malmö. Our assignments cover the entire country with a focus on the Västra Götaland region. We are a modern and flexible workplace offering remote work opportunities. At AFRY, all employees working with land and development issues are part of a network where we have training, networking meetings, exchange experiences, and support each other with resources. Currently, the network consists of about twenty employees from across the country, with varying experience and backgrounds in the field of property law.

The tasks, regardless of education or specialization, involve being a crucial link between individual property owners, municipalities, authorities, and other stakeholders affected by our infrastructure projects. You will have significant responsibility and may work on projects involving new construction and renovation of roads and railways, as well as land development to be built upon by municipalities or private actors.

You will also participate in the preparation of road plans, railway plans, and detailed development plans, maintain contact and inform property owners during planning and implementation phases, handle valuation, negotiation, and contract issues, and be responsible for property legal and damage prevention matters. Therefore, you must be able to handle property legal documents, such as drafting agreements.

The work involves many contacts and sometimes meetings outside office hours, such as public consultations, landowner meetings, and surveying meetings.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a university or college degree in surveying/law or agronomy/forestry, or education focused on property law. Alternatively, another higher education degree combined with experience that we assess as equivalent.

You have several years of relevant and current work experience in property legal matters. This could be gained as a property manager, property developer, agronomist, forester, land surveyor, cadastral engineer, pipeline owner, real estate agent specializing in special properties, or similar.

You also have experience in negotiation, contract management, and contract interpretation within the property sector and hold a valid driver's license.

We consider it an advantage if you:

  • have worked with land and development issues within or for municipal operations
  • have knowledge and experience of the infrastructure and urban planning process, including road plans, railway plans, and detailed development plans.

Obviously, you see yourself as a team player and enjoy sharing your knowledge. You have excellent communication skills and master both Swedish and English. You want to contribute to developing the business together with a large network of like-minded individuals and a group of fantastic colleagues. At AFRY, we live by our values: "Brave – Devoted – Team players," which also describes the person we are looking for!

Location: Trollhättan / Gothenburg / Malmö
