The Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) is the leading, guiding, and coordinating authority in civil defence. We ensure that society is prepared for crisis, high alert, and war.

Your responsibilities and tasks
You will join a team with other employees working on security protection. Your mission is partly to work operationally with security protection agreements, and partly to contribute to developing the mission and the process of security-protected procurement at an authority-wide level.
Your role includes, among other things:
- Conducting basic investigations and background checks on individuals and companies.
- Conducting security clearance interviews with employees and external parties.
- Establishing, following up on, and terminating security protection agreements.
- Planning and conducting training or other communication measures aimed at different target groups within the agency's operations and external actors.
- Conducting investigations, preparing decision support materials, reports, and governing documents.
You will participate in or lead activities within various processes aimed at further developing the agency's security protection and other parts of operational security, as well as increasing the operational unit's own ability to conduct systematic security work.

Your knowledge and competencies
We are looking for someone who has:
- Relevant post-secondary education or working life experience that the agency assesses as equivalent for the position.
- Good knowledge of legislation within the field of security protection.
- Experience of security protection work in an organization conducting security-sensitive operations.
- Experience in establishing, following up on, and terminating security protection agreements.
- Experience in conducting basic investigations and security clearances.
- Good ability to communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and a basic ability to understand and communicate orally in English.
The following are meritorious:
- Worked in the public sector with corresponding tasks.
- Education in security-protected procurement (SUA) or equivalent.
- Experience in personnel security, physical protection, and/or information security.
- Experience in preparing security protection assessments.
- Experience in planning and conducting presentations/training.

About the employment
We offer you a permanent full-time position starting with a probationary period.
Your place of work will be in Stockholm or Karlstad, and travel within the employment occurs.
The majority of our positions involve placement in a security class. Swedish citizenship is usually required. In the case of placement in a security class, a security clearance with registry control will be conducted prior to employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Most employees at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency are war-placed.
About us
The Department of Law and Security is led by the agency's Chief Legal Counsel/Head of Security Protection and consists of approximately fifty employees divided into three units plus a staff support to the department management: two legal units and one security unit. The security unit is primarily responsible for the agency's security work, and we have both experienced and more junior employees on the unit.
We have activity-based offices where you can choose your workplace based on your own needs. You also have the opportunity to work remotely to some extent. We also offer the opportunity to take out wellness hours and you receive a wellness allowance. For those employed by the state, there are also favorable holiday conditions.
