Major industrial investments are underway in northern Sweden, including in Gällivare Municipality, which presents exciting challenges for the rescue service in the dynamic risk landscape we operate in. Gällivare Rescue Service is part of the rescue command system Räddsam Nord, comprising 19 member municipalities stretching from Nordmaling in the south to Kiruna in the north, where approximately 500,000 residents live. The workplace consists of approximately 30 employees. Additionally, there are five rescue brigades and a contract-based industrial fire brigade. We work for a safer and more secure Gällivare!

Job Responsibilities

As Unit Manager for the Damage Mitigation Unit within the Rescue Department, you report directly to the Chief Fire Officer and are part of the department's management group. Additional merits include relevant education in leadership and work environment, experience from previous managerial roles with associated personnel and budget responsibilities, and experience working in municipal rescue services with both preventive and operational tasks. You must have good ability to formulate yourself in writing and speech in both Swedish and English and be comfortable with technical support tools. Great emphasis is placed on your personal qualities. In accordance with the National Minority Languages Act, Gällivare Municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is meritorious when applying for employment in Gällivare Municipality.
