Description of the Area/Unit
Region Norrbotten develops healthcare and other vital societal functions for the inhabitants of the county. With modern technology and digital solutions, we work purposefully to create a sustainable future. Within the IT/MT Department, we collaborate closely with the operations – together we shape the healthcare of tomorrow.
The Support Unit IT/MT is responsible for the operation and maintenance of IT and medical technology equipment at Gällivare and Kiruna Hospitals, as well as at the health centers in Gällivare, Kiruna, Jokkmokk, Pajala, and Vittangi. The work is carried out in close and county-wide collaboration with other units within the IT/MT Department.
As part of the city relocation in Kiruna, Region Norrbotten is building a new hospital expected to be completed in 2031. The IT/MT Department has a central responsibility in equipping the new hospital with IT and medical technology to ensure the functionality and ability of the operations to provide care. The Department also serves as support and advisor in planning, prioritization, and decision-making regarding development work and investments within the region's operations. The assignment also includes securing frameworks for the region's overall architecture within IT/MT and making decisions on the choice of technical platforms.
