Statens institutionsstyrelse (SiS) is a government agency responsible for providing individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse issues across the country. Working at SiS means your professional life will be an exciting challenge. Regardless of where you work within our organization or what role you hold, you help create life-changing change.
SiS Youth Home Stigby on the island of Visingsö has capacity for 35 young people and receives non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial issues, criminality, and substance abuse. We are divided into an MBB unit (reception and needs assessment), four treatment units, and a discharge preparation unit in Jönköping.
Job Description
Do you want to make a life-changing difference for vulnerable people? Then the role of Treatment Coordinator at SiS is a meaningful job. The starting point of our treatment work is to motivate individuals toward new and less destructive ways of living. You will work in a team of dedicated colleagues, and with our combined expertise, we have the opportunity to achieve good results. As a Treatment Coordinator, you will plan, implement, and follow up on program activities. You will conduct treatment sessions and have specific responsibility for documentation and the forms and instruments used in treatment. You will collaborate with various functions regarding mapping, creating, and following up on treatment plans. The role of Treatment Coordinator also includes extra responsibility for mentoring new employees and interns. An important shared task for all employees is to contribute to creating a safe environment and ensuring that security on the institution is maintained according to routines. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.
Our vision is to be a place for change, and this permeates our approach, our engagement, and our attitude.
Working hours are according to schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends.
As a new employee, you will undergo SiS's basic training course lasting 10 weeks. The training alternates between theory and supervised introduction, equipping you for the therapist role in SiS operations.
Qualifications
Your personal suitability is the key to life-changing change. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and involvement. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity, are empathetic, and can build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressurized situations. You also have a good ability to collaborate with others and are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues. In your role as Treatment Coordinator, you will have individual responsibility for several interventions in the treatment plan as well as responsibility on the unit, which requires experience and the ability to coordinate that work. You must be careful in planning and structuring your work, able to work independently, and take initiative. Since treatment work is documented and discussed with several different actors, high demands are placed on good Swedish language skills in both speech and writing.
You must also have:
- Appropriate university education, such as social worker, social pedagogue, or other care/behavioral science education, alternatively post-secondary education such as treatment pedagogue, with substantial experience in program operations.
- Experience in conducting motivational and treatment work individually and/or in groups.
- Good Swedish skills in speech and writing.
- Category B driver's license
We place great emphasis on your personal suitability.
At SiS, we care about good employee relations. This means that as an employee, you take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration.
