Markverkstaden (Land Workshop)

You will belong to Markverkstad Stockholm, a unit within the Army Staff (AST), with approximately 70 employees.

We operate in Kungsängen, Berga, and Falun; this position is located in Kungsängen.

Main Responsibilities

As a mechanic, your main tasks will involve troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of various types of vehicles and their systems used by the Swedish Armed Forces, such as trucks, combat vehicles, tracked carriers, construction machinery, trailers, and containers. The work includes both preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as modifications based on established specifications.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Minimum two- or three-year upper secondary education in vehicle technology, vehicle specialization, or other education/competence acquired through professional experience that the employer deems equivalent.
  • Previous relevant experience working as a mechanic.
  • Category B driver's license.

As a vehicle mechanic, you are structured, decisive, and make correct assessments and prioritizations. Furthermore, you are flexible and can easily shift your focus and adapt to a changing environment.

Meritorious Qualifications

  • Experience working with Swedish Armed Forces equipment and vehicles.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics.
  • Experience with workshop operations and material maintenance.
  • Category C or CE driver's license.
  • Experience working with heavy vehicles.
  • Experience working with vehicle diagnostic systems and vehicle electronics.
  • AC certification (Approved Contractor).

Other Information

Employment type: Permanent position starting with a 6-month probationary period.

Employment level: Full-time, daytime hours – varying working hours may apply.

Work location: Kungsängen.

Start date: According to agreement.

The work involves travel and duty requirements, both domestic and international. The position is a civilian post.

Work involving hardening plastics occurs at the workplace and requires health examinations.
