RESPONSIBILITIES

The Sterile Processing Department (SPD) at Carlanderska is located in newly built, bright, and modern facilities and plays a crucial role in the surgical workflow. The workstations are designed with a strong focus on ergonomics and smooth processes. Approximately 7,000 surgeries are performed annually on the surgical department across various specialties, resulting in a high variation in material handling at the SPD.

Work at the SPD is characterized by an efficient approach, where employees take great responsibility for the overall process and solve challenges through good teamwork. The team currently consists of 10 people.

We are now looking for a Steril Technologist who wants to work with us at the SPD at Carlanderska. Here, you will enjoy varied work, professional development, and good collaboration with both the surgical department and internal customers within the hospital. The work is divided into six different workstations, where you will gradually learn to master all aspects. Thanks to the traceability system T-doc, work can be logged and communicated with other units.

The SPD maintains a high service level and handles both own goods and loaned instruments. We ensure we stay ahead in our daily planning by following ongoing and upcoming surgeries in the surgical planning program Orbit. This allows us to be ready to receive soiled goods after surgeries and provide sterile instruments in a timely manner for upcoming procedures. The SPD is located in close proximity to the Surgical Department and communicates daily with surgical staff, fostering good collaboration and a pleasant work environment.

Work at the SPD is fast-paced with a strong focus on communication, both within the unit and with the Surgical Department and other units. The team possesses high competence and advanced technical equipment, providing the best opportunities for reliable operation and quick adaptation when needed.

The position is a permanent employment starting as agreed. A probationary period applies.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are trained as a Steril Technologist with at least one year of experience working in a hospital SPD, or alternatively, a trained Nursing Assistant with at least 3 years of experience working in an SPD and surgical operations. It is important to us that you have good knowledge of the conditions that apply within sterile and surgical operations, where fast flows, high service, and efficiency are the highest priorities.
