We are looking for an entrepreneurial Lead Engineer driven by transforming inquiries and designs into smart, manufacturable products.

About the Role

As a Lead Engineer at Artifex, you will take on a key technical leadership role responsible for driving product development, technical changes, and product launches all the way into production. You will lead a dedicated team of 7 people (both employees and consultants) towards set project goals.

The focus is on the product development of plastic and purchased parts, with one of the larger projects currently being the development of a new cab for a truck. The role is based at our unit in Färgelanda, and since a strong local presence is required, you will likely need to live in the surrounding area.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Project & Team Leadership: Lead and distribute the work for the internal engineering team. You ensure that the team delivers well-thought-out products according to schedule, budget, and quality requirements.
  • Product Development & Manufacturability: Staff projects and inquiries, and ensure that products are robust and optimized for assembly, tooling, and production. You also conduct your own feasibility studies in CAD.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as the hub and link between customers, external suppliers, and our internal tooling and manufacturing specialists.
  • Business Support: Perform technical preparations for the quotation phase (RFQ) and support the process so that all costs are identified before the quote is submitted to the customer.

Who Are You?

We are looking for a team player without ego who thrives best in a broad, entrepreneurial environment rather than in divided silos. You have strong drive, excellent collaboration skills, and communicate effortlessly with people at all levels – from production to the end customer.

Requirements and Preferences:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastic Technology, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably in interiors.
  • Solid experience in project work and product launches (preferably APQP processes).
  • Good understanding of plastic materials, drawing reading, geometry, and reference systems.
  • Basic knowledge of CATIA to perform simpler studies and reviews.
  • Fluent English in speech and writing, as it is our primary business language (Swedish is a strong asset).
  • Ability to travel within Sweden to support customers and suppliers on-site.

What We Offer

  • Culture: A dynamic and cross-functional work environment with short decision-making paths and ample room for personal initiative.
  • Salary: Monthly salary
  • Working Hours: Normal daytime hours
  • Benefits: Wellness allowance & reduced working hours

Practical Information & Application

  • Location: Färgelanda.
  • Start Date: As agreed.
  • Questions? Contact Oskar Nätt (0704401281)
  • Application: Send your CV to Attn: Oskar Nätt ([email protected])
