About the role of Senior Social Secretary

We are now facing exciting work regarding the new Social Services Act and are looking for an engaged and experienced Senior Social Secretary who wants to help develop our new common reception function, as well as the investigation work within social services. At our workplace, the work proceeds from a holistic perspective where the individual's needs are understood in their context and where the family's combined resources, challenges, and opportunities are utilized.

As Senior Social Secretary, you will have a central role in ensuring legal security, quality, and professional treatment in the first meeting with social services. You will contribute to creating conditions for early interventions and coordinated solutions that strengthen both individuals and families.

Your responsibilities

The reception function is an important entry point to social services and is responsible for receiving and assessing incoming applications, reports, and inquiries. The work is carried out in close collaboration with internal and external actors and is characterized by a solution-focused and accessible approach.

As Senior Social Secretary, you will:

  • Provide methodological and operational support to social secretaries in their daily work.
  • Supervise and guide the reception and investigation team in assessments, prioritizations, and application of the law.
  • Ensure quality and legal security in case handling and documentation.
  • Participate in development work focused on early and coordinated interventions.
  • Contribute to developing working methods based on the combined needs of the individual and family.
  • Collaborate with other operations, authorities, and societal actors.
  • Introduce and support new employees.
  • Act as support to the unit manager in operational development and follow-up.

Who are you?

To succeed in the assignment, it is important that you:

  • Have a degree in Social Work (Social Work degree).
  • Have several years of experience in authority practice within social services.
  • Have good knowledge of relevant legislation, especially the Social Services Act and the Administrative Procedure Act.
  • Have experience with qualified assessments within children, young people, adults, and/or family.
  • Are confident in your professional role and have good ability to supervise and support colleagues.
  • Have a genuine interest in development and quality work.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience in leadership or coordinating functions.
  • Education in supervision, leadership, or method development.
  • Experience working in a reception function or with early interventions.
