Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Region of Västra Götaland and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Primary Care Hospital, Högsbo Primary Care Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3,000 employees work with us every day to provide good, safe, and high-quality specialist healthcare.

Welcome to Medical Technology at Hospitals in the West

At Medical Technology within Hospitals in the West, a total of 16 engineers and technicians work together in 5 different technical groups. Our primary task is to ensure that the equipment is safe to use for patients and staff. Our customers are primarily our four hospitals, as well as Primary and Regional Healthcare in our catchment area.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is outgoing, has a strong sense of service, and well-developed collaboration skills. It is very important that you can handle tasks of varying nature, have a good ability to work on many tasks in parallel, and are stress-resistant.

We value taking responsibility and quality awareness highly, and we place great emphasis on your personal qualities, where customer meetings are part of the daily work to build a network for good collaboration.

We offer you

You are welcome to have experience working with medical technology equipment such as blood pressure monitors, pulse oximeters, and equipment within outpatient operations. You will be part of the mechatronics technical group.

Your primary placement will be in Kungälv. We work in teams, which means that planned maintenance is carried out on-site within one of Hospitals in the West's four hospital units or within Regional or Primary Healthcare clinics and outpatient departments. Travel for work occurs one or several times per week during daytime.

Main responsibilities include, among other things, corrective and preventive maintenance of medical technology equipment. Depending on competence and potential, the assignment may also involve participation in procurement processes and conducting training initiatives for healthcare staff.

We work in a flow with case management, which means that the operations themselves register cases in the Medusa customer portal system.

We invest in continuous competence development in the form of training and courses where you can grow in your professional role, making your job both responsible and stimulating.

Qualifications

You who apply may have an engineering education at upper secondary or university level, or equivalent experience acquired from previous work. Experience from project management is meritorious.

It is a requirement that you have practical manual skills and experience in service work, preferably within medical technology. A practical test will take place during the selection process.

It is meritorious if you have previous experience working within a hospital organization and have broader general technical competence. You are welcome to have knowledge in network technology, computers, and data acquisition.

To function in your role, you need to be comfortable handling many cases simultaneously and also be able to prioritize among them to provide customers with the help they need.

Language skills:

  • Swedish; fluent in speech and writing
  • English; good knowledge to communicate verbally and to understand service manuals and courses

A manual Class B driver's license is a requirement for the position as you may need to use a car for transport.

Other

Selection and interviews will take place continuously with a break for holidays in weeks 30-33. The intended start date is in December.
