The position is located at the Environmental Analysis Unit, where approximately 40 employees currently work.
The main activities at the unit are environmental goals, environmental monitoring, water management, liming and lime effect follow-up, water protection, and projects. Job Description
In Västerbotten County, there is a great need to implement measures in water environments to achieve environmental goals and water quality standards. This may involve reducing the load of nutrients or hazardous substances to lakes, watercourses, groundwater, and coastal waters, removing migration barriers, or restoring water environments. Collaboration within catchment areas and between actors is a prerequisite for effective measure implementation.
We are looking for you who want to work for a better water status in the county, prepare background material, and plan for water measures. The work consists of mapping the environmental status, impact, and need for measures according to the EU Water Framework Directive. The position focuses on hydromorphology in lakes, watercourses, and coastal waters. The role also includes conducting environmental monitoring, describing the environmental status, and collaborating internally and externally within the fields of water management. Collaboration may involve guiding and supporting external actors in working towards a better water status and prioritizing resources to places where water measures have the greatest effect. An important task is also to support the County Administrative Board's supervision of hazardous activities. There is also an opportunity to lead and participate in projects focusing on water issues. The work is varied, and you will be part of an experienced team where tasks are shared and experiences are exchanged.
