You are ordained as a priest according to the Church of Sweden's order. It is an advantage if you have worked for a few years as a priest in a parish, and if you have any pedagogical education.

About the job

You will be part of a work team with a total of 20 employees. This autumn, the parish will begin the important work of developing a new Parish Instruction (FIN), and we look forward to you joining and contributing to this work. The role also involves meeting the growing spiritual interest among young adults, which could involve leading discussion groups or trying something completely new. What do you think?

About the parish

Holmsund Parish is located 12 km from Umeå and consists of the archipelago communities of Obbola and Holmsund. Approximately 9,000 people live here, and about 62% are members of the Church of Sweden. Here, you will find the opportunities of a small parish with close and long-lasting relationships, as well as great possibilities to play a role in society. The parish has two churches, a diaconal center, and two cemeteries. The parish has an open and welcoming operation with, among other things, a strong diaconal focus, a solid foundation in both economy and management, and a good work team to join.

We regularly work on deepening the work team, where Bible discussions and prayer are central parts.

This autumn, we will begin a comprehensive development process as we develop a new Parish Instruction to remain relevant in our context based on the roots of the Gospel.

The location by the sea and the mouth of the Ume River offers magnificent nature with beautiful views and experiences, both for work and private life. The communities of Holmsund and Obbola have undergone changes in several stages: from villages, to industrial communities, and now to increasingly attractive coastal residential areas. Holmsund is located about 10 km outside Umeå, which offers the advantages of being close to a larger city, as well as a good cooperation climate with neighboring parishes.
