Description

Storfors Municipality is seeking an analytical and driven Change Leader for the primary school. The role is new and will involve independent and responsible work where you will analyze operations to identify patterns, causes, and needs for action, as well as drive and implement selected initiatives in the operations based on political mandates.

The role is centrally organized as Storfors Municipality is organized with a single unified administration and a single board in the form of the Municipal Executive Board.

Storfors Municipality is a smaller organization with short decision-making paths and close collaboration between different operations. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Municipal Manager, the Municipal Executive Board, as well as school leadership and other staff within the school/preschool operational area to maintain quality and good routines throughout the entire flow.

Responsibilities

The assignment involves creating conditions and structures to develop, test, and implement initiatives that ultimately result in better goal achievement for the municipality's students.

This includes:

  • At a high level, create current situation analyses, analyze development needs, and together with all relevant parties concretize which steps need to be taken forward.
  • Communicate direction and priorities, create engagement, and support employees and managers at various levels in initiating and implementing changes.
  • Proactively initiate, plan, and carry out politically decided development initiatives related to systematic quality work, and coach school leadership in this work.
  • Drive change and culture development.
  • Contribute to building a culture where clarity, responsibility, development, and security are central.
  • Translate strategies and goals into concrete activities and results.
  • Work on behalf of the Municipal Executive Board and report to the Municipal Manager, as your employment will be in the Municipal Management Office's support staff.
  • Drive internal development projects and be a support in implementing new ways of working and methods.
  • Monitor the external environment and disseminate knowledge from research and trends.
  • Plan and lead training and workshops.

This is a role where you both help shape the direction forward and simultaneously contribute to the daily, practical work.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have extensive experience as a school leader and a relevant higher education degree. You have extensive experience in process facilitation, with a particular focus on change management, and are accustomed to working with school development at the authority level.

You feel confident leading both work and management groups in change and have good experience driving goal-oriented processes. At the same time, you have strong analytical skills and are accustomed to handling complex systems and strategic assignments. You also have the ability, if necessary, to handle tensions at both the operational level and in groups.

Furthermore, you have experience working in a politically governed organization and are comfortable handling political matters.

As a person, you are a secure and stable leader with a humble and honest approach. You are courageous, open to change, and creative, and thrive in contexts where goals are developed and the path there is not always clear. You have a good ability to build relationships, create engagement, and motivate and include others in the work. Furthermore, you are structured and have a well-developed ability to lead and drive strategic change and transition work.
