The Education Department is responsible for preschools, primary schools, special needs primary schools, upper secondary schools, and special needs upper secondary schools. Responsibilities also include student health services, mother-tongue instruction, school transport, and school meals. We strive to create an inspiring learning environment for approximately 10,000 children and students. We have a strong vision of building knowledge and creating dreams.
Since everything Trelleborg Municipality does is based on our core values of openness, respect, and responsibility, it is important and crucial that these values are just as clear to you as they are to us in our work.
TRELLEBORG – A SCHOOL MUNICIPALITY TO BE RECKONED WITH
Between the plains and the sea, we build knowledge and create dreams.
The Workplace
Within the Education Department, we work to provide all children and students with the best possible conditions to develop and reach their full potential – from preschool to primary school.
Our operations are characterized by commitment, high goal achievement, and a clear focus on learning and development from a 1–16-year perspective. We work closely together in professional teams where student health is a vital and natural part of the promoting and preventive work.
The Education Department's school psychological team consists of eight school psychologists who work together to strengthen equality and develop student health services within the municipality's operations.
Due to an ongoing reorganization within the school psychology group, we are currently unable to specify exactly which area the position will be located in.
We value collaboration, participation, and a trust-based approach. Here, you will become an important part of a larger context where we work together for equality and quality in our operations.
Responsibilities
The role of a school psychologist involves collaborating with the school's pedagogical staff in the overall health-promoting and preventive work. As a psychologist, you bring psychological competence as support in pedagogical work and in the overall planning of student health services. There is an opportunity to create your own health-promoting and preventive projects, either individually or in a team with other student health staff. The role also includes tasks such as assessment, consultation, supervision, and further training for school and preschool staff. As a school psychologist, you are also a key part of preventive work to strengthen students' mental health, leading to increased school attendance and better goal achievement.
The psychologist network meets twice a month for collegial supervision and support, planning of joint health-promoting and preventive projects, and reflective development of the school psychologist's role and tasks.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist. As the role involves some travel within the municipality, a valid B-driver's license and your own car are required. Experience working as a psychologist in educational settings such as preschools, schools, or upper secondary schools is meritorious for the position.
To succeed in this role, you must be able to work both independently and in close collaboration with others. You communicate clearly, articulately, and enthusiastically, both in individual conversations and in larger groups. You have the ability to build good relationships with students, guardians, and other contacts you encounter in your professional role. You take responsibility, drive your work forward, deliver results, and prioritize your work effectively. You stay updated with current research, continuously maintain your specialist knowledge, and serve as a knowledge resource for others.
Personal qualities such as service orientation, flexibility, integrity, and the ability to build trust are of great importance for the position. With good judgment, you make well-founded assessments, even in complex situations, and act professionally in both advisory and operational contexts. You are curious, proactive, and ready to take on new challenges with energy and commitment.
Working as a school psychologist with us means you are given significant responsibility in your daily work. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.
