The Neurology Section is part of the Area of Operations (VO) for Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine at Skåne University Hospital (Sus), with activities in Lund and Malmö. We provide clinical care in both outpatient and inpatient settings, with 24/7 on-call service and readiness. A significant part of the work takes place within multidisciplinary specialist teams. The section also conducts extensive research in areas such as stroke, multiple sclerosis (MS), epilepsy, and movement disorders. Teaching is offered to students and healthcare personnel across all professional categories.

As a physician here, you will work in a unit with a broad scope and a balance between general neurological care for our local area and highly specialized care for the Southern Health Care Region. We have a large acute care operation and a substantial inpatient department. We have multidisciplinary teams for epilepsy, stroke, MS, ALS, movement disorders, neuromuscular diseases, spasticity/dystonia, and neuro-oncology. There is close collaboration with neurosurgery, neuro-intensive care, rehabilitation medicine, cognitive medicine, neuroradiology, and neurophysiology. Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine are part of the same VO, offering great potential for participation in and development of neurorehabilitation.

Job Responsibilities

We are now welcoming a licensed resident physician (underläkare) for a fixed-term position at the Neurology Section, primarily based in Lund.

The responsibilities include working with neurological patients, primarily in inpatient care, with traditional resident duties: seeing, examining, and taking histories from neurological patients, following up on lab tests/imaging, participating in rounds and assessments, etc. We have a large acute care operation, and on-call work with our acute flows, especially stroke, is included. The work is carried out in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

The advertisement concerns a fixed-term position of six months.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed physician with permission to practice in Swedish healthcare. Furthermore, Swedish language skills of at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required.
