The Amphibious Battalions are a unique resource within the Swedish Armed Forces. The 5th Amphibious Battalion in Gothenburg is a flexible unit designed to handle tasks in coastal areas, archipelagos, and harbor regions.

The Position Offers

The 5th Amphibious Battalion at Amphibious Brigade 4 is for you who want to become part of the strength and pride of the west coast. The positions offered are Acting Platoon Commander, Troop Commander, and Group Commander.

About the Amphibious Forces

The Amphibious Battalion is one of two amphibious battalions in Sweden being developed towards Amphibious Battalion 2030. Continuous acquisition of new equipment and further education of personnel are carried out, which in turn creates new or developed capabilities in all domains in which the battalion operates.

Overall Responsibilities

In the role of a professional officer at the 5th Amphibious Battalion, you will:

• train and guide your colleagues within your area of expertise
• develop the war-fighting unit
• train and exercise in your war-fighting role
• further develop yourself within your profession
• participate in working groups at the platoon, company, or battalion level
• lead operations within your function

Requirements

• Passed and relevant Specialist Officer Examination
• Category B driver's license

• Background in the Amphibious Corps
• Competence in air defense systems

• Competence in anti-ship operations

• Competence in indirect fire

At the Älvsborg Amphibious Regiment, in central Gothenburg, we operate where land meets the sea and serve as a vital link between the army and naval forces. As a re-established regiment with garrison responsibilities, we are growing and need more competent officers, soldiers, and civilian employees to continue developing the unit for its important task: Defending Sweden's many coastal archipelago areas and protecting our routes into Scandinavia's largest port to safeguard Sweden's strategic imports.
