We are looking for a highly experienced project manager within civil engineering and urban development for a long-term assignment in early planning stages.

The role involves leading and coordinating two parallel urban development and detailed planning projects with many stakeholders, complex dependencies, and extensive coordination between municipal functions, authorities, consultants, property owners, and other actors.

You will play a central role in creating structure, progress, and decision-making support throughout the entire detailed planning process.

Assignment Duration: Approximately 40–60% engagement with a start in August 2026. The assignment is expected to last at least until completed consultation documents, with the possibility of extension into subsequent planning and implementation phases.

Responsibilities

• Project management and strategic steering of detailed planning projects
• Coordination of municipal processes and authority dialogues
• Coordination and management of technical consultants and specialist investigations
• Development and monitoring of project plans and schedules
• Risk management and analysis of critical dependencies
• Development of decision-making support for steering groups and decision-makers
• Coordination for consultations and review phases
• Handling feasibility, constructability, and development issues
• Ongoing monitoring of economy, progress, and project goals

Requirements

To be considered for the role, you must:

• Have a relevant university degree in civil engineering, physical planning, architecture, road and water, or equivalent competence acquired through experience
• Have at least 10 years of documented experience in project management within urban development, civil engineering, real estate development, or detailed planning projects
• Have experience from at least two major urban development, real estate development, or detailed planning projects
• Have documented experience in project management in early stages such as detailed planning, program phase, or feasibility study
• Have experience leading or coordinating detailed planning processes
• Have experience from several stages in the civil engineering process, including detailed planning, design, and implementation
• Have experience with feasibility, constructability, and development issues
• Have experience coordinating consultants and technical investigations
• Have experience with authority contacts and collaboration with municipal actors
• Have good knowledge of the Planning and Building Act (PBL) and the different stages of the planning process
• Be able to express yourself very well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
• Have experience with development and implementation economics

Desirable Experience

It is particularly desirable if you have experience with:

• Review or revision of detailed plans
• Center development projects
• Urban development projects with several parallel detailed plans
• Coordination of detailed plans in urban environments
• Consultation and review phases
• Projects where you have followed the process from detailed planning to completion
• Complex implementation projects with many actors
• Work for a municipality, municipal company, or other public buyer
• Strategic project management in early planning stages
• Projects with extensive coordination between several organizations and stakeholders

Workplace and Working Method

The assignment is linked to Falkenberg and is carried out in close collaboration with the client, municipal actors, and external consultants. Physical presence in Falkenberg may occur, while parts of the work can be performed remotely according to agreement with the client.
