About the unit

The Security and Preparedness Unit (ESB) is a central function led by the agency's Security Director. The unit consists of 15 employees and serves as a steering and supporting function within security, information security, and preparedness. We have a clear focus on supporting management, managers, and employees in these areas. As a Security Officer, you will become part of the Security Team, which consists of several people responsible for areas such as operational security and security clearance. In summary, the goal is that the Swedish Transport Administration's assets receive the protection they need.

To get started in the role and familiarize yourself with the operations, we take responsibility for an individual introduction and training program planned based on your specific background.

Responsibilities

You will work with maintaining and strengthening the agency's work within the security area. Based on your experience, competence, and development, responsibilities and tasks will expand.

The role includes, among other things:

• Coordinate and provide support in work related to security clearance agreements.
• Coordinate and provide support in work related to security checks.
• Work with special security clearance assessments.
• Develop guidelines, procedures, conduct training, and provide advice.
• Collaborate with the Swedish Transport Administration's operations and other support functions that are central to building and maintaining efficient support processes.
• Collaborate with other authorities and suppliers.

Naturally, you will collaborate internally within the entire ESB to solve your tasks and, as such, need to be prepared to provide support across the entire unit.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have….

• relevant university or college education, preferably with a focus on crisis preparedness, risk management, societal security, security clearance, social sciences, or political science (or other education and experience considered equivalent)
• experience of working with security
• very good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
• Category B driver's license

It is meritorious if you have….

• relevant training in security clearance
• current experience of working with security clearance within the public sector
• experience of procurement or previous work with analyses and drawing up action plans.

The Swedish Transport Administration may apply a six-month probationary period.

The position may involve war posting at the Swedish Transport Administration.
