Orthopedic patients involve varying lengths of stay, which can range from one day to several weeks. The patient is at the center, and the care is person-centered.

About the Orthopedics Department

With approximately 500 employees, Sahlgrenska University Hospital is the largest provider of orthopedic care in the country. We provide county and regional healthcare and also have several national assignments. Within the Orthopedics department, we treat, care for, and rehabilitate patients with injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system. We perform emergency and planned surgeries and treatments. We receive and treat patients from all over Sweden within special areas such as foot, spine, prosthetic, and arthroscopic surgery.

We strive to provide good, high-quality care and conduct high-quality research, development, and education. Our operations are primarily located at Mölndal Hospital but are also present at Queen Silvia Children's and Youth Hospital and at Sahlgrenska Hospital. The Orthopedics department at Sahlgrenska University Hospital has a long research tradition and is internationally outstanding in several clinical areas.

Our wards at Mölndal Hospital are highly specialized units for emergency and planned orthopedic operations.

About you

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse; experience in orthopedics and/or emergency care is meritorious. If you are new to your profession, we welcome you to apply even without orthopedic experience, in which case you will receive a longer introduction if offered the position. If you are a positive person who finds it easy to collaborate and wishes to develop in your role, you are the right person for this job. If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will participate in the Clinical Base Year, which is our introduction program. The Clinical Base Year is mandatory and lasts during the first year of your employment with us. It includes lectures, nursing guidance, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center.

In the event of recruiting nurses/doctors with foreign qualifications/specialist certificates, the current position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish qualification/specialist certificate.
