About the Department

The Eating Disorders Care Chain's inpatient unit for patients over 25 is a highly specialized ward with eight beds for adult patients with severe eating disorders. The department operates under the National Highly Specialized Care (NHV) mandate, meaning we treat patients with complex conditions from all over Sweden.

As a nurse here, you will work in an interprofessional team alongside care assistants, doctors, psychologists, dietitians, and physiotherapists. We are in a development phase focused on strengthening and further developing our care, with the goal of offering treatment of the highest quality. We are looking for you who want to work within specialized eating disorder care and help develop both the care and your own competence.

Responsibilities

As a nurse here, you play a central role in the psychiatric nursing of patients with severe eating disorders. The work involves providing daily nursing care and support, including meal support, as well as monitoring and assessing the patient's somatic and psychiatric condition.

You work in close collaboration with an interprofessional team and actively participate in the planning, implementation, and follow-up of individual care plans. The role also includes providing information and support to patients and their relatives, as well as contributing to creating structure and security in an often demanding treatment environment.

Documentation, medication management, and continuous follow-up of the patient's development are important parts of the job. You are also expected to handle acute situations and make clinical assessments in complex care processes.

The work involves active participation in the team's joint development, where you contribute to maintaining and further developing high-quality care.

Shift work includes days, evenings, and weekends.

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will join the Clinical Base Year, which is our introduction program. The clinical base year is mandatory and lasts during the first year of your employment with us. It includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. Additionally, it includes working on at least two different wards to broaden your competence.

In the event of recruiting nurses/doctors with foreign qualifications/specialist certificates, the relevant position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish qualification/specialist certificate.
