About Torpgärdsskolan

Torpgärdsskolan is located in a large residential area approximately 5 km from Boden city center, with its main catchment area comprising Bodsvedjan, Norrbyarna, Norra Svartbyn, Södra Svartbyn, and Torpgärdan. The school has approximately 300 students, with two parallel classes from preschool class to grade 6. We have three after-school care departments – Galaxen and Kometen, as well as Stjärnan's after-school care.

Torpgärdsskolan has a large schoolyard with both forest and grass areas, giving students plenty of space to play. The proximity to forests and nature contributes to the school's excellent opportunities for various outdoor activities.

At Torpgärdsskolan, we encourage active breaks as well as brain breaks and movement challenges during the school day. Priority goals that the school works with are reading, writing, and arithmetic – this is prioritized in the school's development work across all grades. We work to give students the best conditions for acquiring new knowledge and developing good social competence. At Torpgärdsskolan, we believe knowledge is important and want students to have confidence in their own ability to learn and succeed. We work with collegial learning at the school to continuously develop our operations, basing our work on current research and development.

Job Responsibilities

1 position(s).

You will teach at the lower secondary level (grades 4-6). You will collaborate closely with other teachers at the school and after-school care staff. In addition, you will:

• Be a class teacher and mentor in a class
• Be responsible for teaching in some of the following subjects: mathematics, science/technology, social studies, Swedish, English
• Be responsible for planning, conducting, assessing, and documenting your work.
• Together with other teachers at the school, contribute to students having a positive and meaningful school day where knowledge development and social training are in focus.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with eligibility to teach grades 4-6 in some of the subjects: mathematics, science/technology, social studies, Swedish, English. Eligibility in multiple subjects is meritorious. Experience is meritorious.

You should be able to:

• Work independently, have good social skills, and be responsible and engaged.
• Show a positive and professional attitude towards students, parents, and colleagues.
• Show good leadership with a clear lesson structure, clear expectations, and the ability to build good relationships.
• Be flexible and able to adapt when the needs of the operation change.
